Spirits of the Forest Incense Burner

This is something a bit different!  It functions beautifully as an upright incense holder, but the design is intriguing.

Made to resemble a tree trunk covered with knarled roots and branches, the piece includes another element.  Stacked one above the other are three green men.  They illustrate the ‘Speak no Evil‘, ‘Hear no Evil‘ and ‘See no Evil‘ tradition.

The incense holder has been cast in resin, before being hand-painted in greens and browns.  In the hollow at the base is a small hole, which is where you place your favourite incense stick.  It is 32.5cm high.

This is a fascinating piece celebrating all that is magical about tree spirits.
